hey looks like it just keeps getting better

this ones definitely got a lot of depth to it compared to your other WIPs, but i agree with your concerns about the flower. it seems oddly "fluorescent-looking" somehow, compared to the rest of the painting.

yes

.....my concern in the beginning was that it wasn't bright enough, now its too bright

. I think its because it was still wet when I took the pic, and its a little duller now that it has dried.

I like the effect that you have going with the water, but, yes, you seem to be struggling with the flower a bit. Maybe it would help if you kept in mind that most flower pedals and leaves have a translucency to them that would be very evident from the direction of where you have your light source. Pedals that overlap each other would seem to glow from the light behind them, and pedals would be darker depending on if they were towards the back of the flower, or if they were overlapping each other.

Yes, I will keep it in mind next time......I went a little crazy with the paint, and its too late in the game to fix it properly. There is just too much texture now

The lilypad and the water are excellent, though! I thought you'd just taken a photo and added the flower over top of it. ^^
